Paita on malliltaan joko 8 tai 10 mallikertaa, jolloin meikäläisen matikalla 10 mallikertaa olisi pitänyt olla n. 110 cm. Sellaisenaan paita olisi hieman liian leveä, mutta koska neuleesta tulee aika painava, ajattelin, että muutama ylimääräinen leveyssentti venyy pituuteen, enkä totuuden nimissä olisi mitenkään mahtunut 88 senttiseen paitaan. My swatch lied through its teeth. It pretended that one pattern repeat (aka 23 stitches) is about 4.25 inches. The sweater pattern includes either 8 or 10 patterns groups, so using my maths skills 10 repeats should have been about 42.5 inches. The sweater would have been a bit too wide, but as it’d be quite heavy, I thought that the few extra inches would ‘disappear’ as the garment stretches when worn. And, tell you the truth, I don’t fit in a 35” sweater. After progressing about 8”, the crude truth broke:

the sweater is about 50” wide, so one repeat is about 5 inches. How?
