Toissapäivänä valmistunut Starsky esittäytyy vasta nyt, vaikka ei luonnonvalossa ollut tänäänkään kehumista; onneksi on kuvankäsittelyohjelma, jolla otoksista saa edes vähän parempia. Toive tästä neuleesta heräsi talven kovimpien pakkasten aikoihin kun vaatekaapista ei löytynyt yhtään nykymitoille soveltuvaa lämmintä, villaista neuletakkia. Malliksi valikoitui Starsky ihailtuani sitä mm. täällä, täällä ja täällä. Langaksi halusin ehdottomasti konepestävän ja valinta osui loppukädessä edullisen hinnan ja helpon saatavuuden takia Isoveljeen, jonka siis tilasin suoraan Novitalta viime kuussa. Halusin malliin oman käden jäljen, joten lisäsin banaanipuukuvion myös hihoihin. Tuulian Starskyn rohkaisemana päädyin harkinnan jälkeen nappeihin vyön sijaan; jotenkin ne tuntuivat omemmalta vaihtoehdolta. Takki on neulottu ilman sivusaumoja, sillä halusin minimoida saumojen ompelua; samasta syystä hihat on tehty pyörönä. Koska en rakasta myöskään langanpäiden päättelyä, huovutin langanpäät yhteen. Täytyy siis huomioida pesussa, että konepestäväkin villalanka huopuu, kun tarpeeksi hankaa. Tiheyden erilaisuudesta ja neuletavasta johtuen jouduin laskemaan kaikki silmukkamäärät uudelleen, miehustaan pohjana käytin kokoa M, mutta hihat neuloin löysemmiksi kuin ko koossa, sillä kuvioneule vetää sitä vähän kasaan eikä mikään ole vaatteessa ahistavampaa kuin liian tiukat hihat.

Starsky, which was finished two days ago, couldn't presents itself until now, even though it was quite dark also today. The only way to get the pictures a bit better is to use a picture manager program, thank heavens for it. I started to dream about this knit when the winter was at its coldest and I didn't find any warm, woollen cardigans suitable for my present size in my wardrobe. The pattern which I chose was Starsky after admiring it for example here, here and here. As far as the yarn goes, it had to be machine washable, cheap and easy to get, so I chose Isoveli. It was a part of the big order I got from Novita last month. I wanted to add my personal touch to the cardigan, so I used the banana tree pattern also in the sleeves. Seeing the buttons in Tuulia's Starsky encouraged me to use them instead of a belt which didn't feel my own. The cardigan itself is knitted without side seams and the sleeves in the round to minimize sewing. As I don't love to weave in the ends either, I felted them together. Even the yarn is machine washable it felted in hard rubbing - a good thing to remember when washing it. Because my tension and the knitting method I used were different I had to recount all stitches, rows, decreases and increases. As a basis for the bodice I used the size M but the sleeves are looser because of the stitch motif used in them and the fact that nothing bothers me more in a garment than sleeves which are too tight.
